Crystal, Owner Crystal is a state board-licensed cosmetologist and makeup artist who has been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. After working as an accountant for five years doing things like, analyzing finances, maintaining billing and managing customer service she realized she wasn’t expressing her true passion. So she quit her job, and decided to pursue her real career aspirations in the beauty industry. After enrolling in Empire Beauty School she finally found what she truly loved to do. She discovered that helping people feel better about themselves inside and out was so extremely rewarding that she really fell in love with her work. Opening Taboo Salon & Spa was the final step in completing Crystal’s career goals in the industry.
She has continued to develop her skills through a variety of over 100 courses including: a master color class with Matrix, facial classes with Bioelements and body waxing technique classes. Crystal’s skills in the industry continue to grow as she utilizes everything she has learned with each of her unique clients.
Jen, Master Stylist Jen has experience doing hair for over 20 years, originally graduating from Upper Bucks Votech School. She started her first salon job the day after she turned 18 and enjoys it to this day. She specializes in traditional hair color and texturing, though she thoroughly enjoys multi-dimensional color and performing makeovers. In a career that spans over two decades, Jen has done a bit of everything from nails to skin, but especially loves hair. She believes that in an ever changing industry keeping up with her education is super important. She attends the New York hair show almost every year and has taken several business building classes as well. In her free time she enjoys being a black belt in karate and taking classes to keep up her training.
Tiffany, Associate Stylist Tiffany is a certified makeup artist and licensed cosmetologist who has been working in the beauty industry for over three years. She specializes in color correction, hair painting, and creative color. Her passion began with makeup and she has since trained with celebrity artists and has done fun things such as, being a makeup artist for Ms. Veteran America Pageants. Tiffany also offers women hair services, makeup, and waxing.
Melina, Esthetician Melina is a state-licensed esthetician with more than nine years of experience. She graduated with honors from the Skin Science Institute's Master Esthetics program in Salt Lake City, Utah. Melina continues to further her education by learning the newest trends and products offered in the beauty industry. She specializes in facials, peel treatments, waxing, lash/brow lifts and tints, makeup and spray tans applications.
'Samantha, Guest Coordinator & Associate Stylist Samantha is dual-licensed as an esthetician and sosmetologist graduating from both the Vision Academy of Ambler and Bucks County School of Beauty Culture. Samantha has been in the beauty industry since 2010 and has worked all aspects of the job! These days Samantha works primarily at Taboo as our Guest Coordinator and Associate Stylist!
Brittany, Associate Stylist Brittany graduated from the Bucks County School of Beauty Culture with an Associates Degree in Cosmetology and has been in the industry for almost 10 years. Although she is versatile in many different services such as waxing and nails, her passion and dedication is with HAIR! From styling for a fun or formal event, to cutting, coloring and Brazilian Blowouts (in which she is certified for), she loves it all. Brittany strives to have each client that leaves her chair feeling refreshed and confident about themselves!
Kelsey, Associate Stylist Kelsey has been perfecting her skills as a hair stylist and colorist for the last 12 years. With the bulk of her career in New York City, she has worked in nearly every facet of the beauty industry. This includes bridal, fashion, tv/film, stage, as well as with private, on-location clients. As a hair stylist at Taboo, she is looking forward to providing clients with the consultation time and attention needed for them to feel confident in her hands. Kelsey takes pride in her ability to work with all hair textures and has a knack for creating cuts with effortless shape and movement. As a colorist, she has advanced skills in hand painting and foiling, and is known for her balayage technique and my ability to create beautiful, natural looking colors.
